About the Bank

Raiffeisen Bank Aval Public Joint Stock Company was registered on March 27, 1992 (operated under the brand name of Joint Stock Postal Pension Bank Aval until September 25, 2006). Since October 2005, the Bank has been part of the Raiffeisen International Bank Holding AG Group (as of January 1, 2009 the Group held 96.18% of shares in the Bank).

Raiffeisen Bank Aval continues to retain a leadership position among Ukrainian banks, as measured by total assets. The Bank provides a broad range of standard and innovative banking services through its nationwide network which comprised, as of January 1, 2009, a total of 1,134 outlets located in big cities, provincial and community centers and villages throughout Ukraine.

The Bank has an effective management structure, based on a clear division into business lines (corporate, retail, SME and treasury) and supporting verticals (information technologies, operation support, accounts, controlling, security and other) both in the Bank’s Head-office and regional directorates. As a truly international bank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval clearly separates front-office functions from back-office ones to achieve higher quality of client service and enhance risk mitigation.

During 2008, Raiffeisen Bank Aval’s leading positions were recognized within the frames of numerous ratings and surveys both in Ukraine, and abroad. In particular, during the international festival contest The Choice of the Year the Bank for the third year running was recognized as the best bank and awarded prizes in the nominations Mortgage Program 2008, Deposit Program 2008 and Car Lending Program.

The Delovoy magazine named Raiffeisen Bank Aval the Best Bank for Business (November, 2008).

By results of Adam Smith Conferences’ poll among its partners in Ukraine, CIS and Europe, Raiffeisen Bank Aval was awarded as Bank of the Year 2008 in Ukraine. In 2008, the Bank also won the MasterCard Bank of the Year contest in Ukraine. Raiffeisen Bank Aval was recognized among the best in the nominations Bank of the Year (2nd position) and Most Reliable Bank of the Year (2nd position). Under the rating TOP 100. Best Companies of Ukraine of the Ekonomika publishing house, the Bank was recognized as the most capitalized bank in Ukraine and was ranked among the best companies of Ukraine in terms of net profit.

The renowned rating BrandFinance Global Banking 500 named Raiffeisen Bank Aval the highest-valued banking brand in Ukraine. To form the rating, analysts of Brand Finance had analyzed three different blocks of information on each bank, what helped to assess various aspects of their performance: the financial position of the company-brandholder, its capitalization degree and development forecasts for the near five years; data on the local market and the bank’s position in the competitive environment; information on the target audiences.

The Bank for the second year running was also named Ukraine’s Best Banking Employer according to a survey commissioned by the Correspondent magazine and conducted by the Gfk Ukraine company.

The reputable UK-based magazine Euromoney awarded Raiffeisen Bank Aval the title of Ukraine’s best company in the financial and banking sector of Ukraine in 2008 as part of its Best Companies in CEE rating.

The Kyiv Post weekly named Raiffeisen Bank Aval Best Kyiv Bank 2008.

The Bank’s regional directorates have also been recognized among the best in their respective geographical areas.
